This position will be responsible for maintaining the patron experience at our venues and supporting third‑party clients in handling the Front of the House.

The target rate for this position is $14.55 – $16.74 per hour, depending on qualifications.

Summary of Duties

The Patron Services Attendant is responsible for ensuring the effective execution of Front of House and Box Office policies and activities for events in the Courtyard Theater, Cox Building Playhouse, Amphitheater at Oak Point Park, and McCall Plaza, including the supervision of volunteer ushers, implementing operating policies and procedures in Front of House and Box Office areas, operating ticketing system, and contributing to art space activities.

Job Functions
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of Plano Stages Volunteer Usher Policies and Venue Emergency Preparedness Plans.
  • Operates Plano Stages ticketing and Box Office program, including managing the main Plano Stages Box Office phone line during events.
  • Contributes to divisional marketing initiatives, including upcoming event research and documentation of event details.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills by interacting with patrons, resolving patron conflicts, and managing incoming call load during show nights.
  • Assists third‑party client utilizing venues in all front of house and box office areas.
  • Helps to ensure safety of all staff and patrons of Plano Stages by enforcing ADA and Crowd Management policies.
  • Performs clerical tasks, including preparing mass mailings, copying and collating, filing, inventory, etc.
  • Occasionally will assist with technical aspects of the venues, including, but not limited to, physical space change‑overs, light hangs, work Calls, and running sound or light boards.
  • Investigates and resolves citizen complaints related to areas of responsibility.
  • Regular and consistent attendance for the assigned work schedule is essential.
Marginal Duties
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Typical Decisions

Interprets and enforces established policies and safety regulations. Determines effective solutions to citizen concerns or conflicts. Ensures effective placement of volunteer staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of: Event organization and management procedures; theater and special event operations; industry safety and security policies, procedures, and practices.

Skill in: Managing multiple projects simultaneously; communicating effectively both verbally and in writing; demonstrating mechanical aptitude; operating a personal computer.

Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience: One (1) year of Customer service experience, preferable in a performing arts or public assembly facility. Any work related experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above Minimum Qualifications is an acceptable substitute for the above specified education and experience requirements.

Licenses and

Certifications:

Texas Class C driver’s license (must obtain within 30 days of hire per state law). Must obtain First Aid, CPR and AED, and Trained Crowd Manager certifications within six months of entry into position.
