Alpha Precision Systems (APS) was established on a platform of over 30 years of experience in the microelectronics industry. APS offers some of the most advanced slot die coating systems in the world, ranging from small-scale research and development to fully integrated mass production systems. The Company is engaged in the development, sale, and service of advanced, high-precision slot die coating systems and integrated process solutions for the photovoltaic (PV), display (FPD), microelectronics, alternative energy, and other thin-film dependent industries and applications.
APS’s state-of-the‑art coating technology has enabled a single technology platform to provide the essential coating / deposition operations in key markets such as Perovskite LCD, OLED, Micro LED, and other FPD applications, panel‑level packaging, RFID, and other applications, including biomedical and fuel cells.
The Field Service Engineer will play a critical role in product development and manufacturing scale up activities at our world-class manufacturing facility. This position will be responsible for working with technical team members to operate state‑of‑the‑art thin‑film coating, perform standard optical characterization, and conduct experiments to determine optimal processing conditions. This individual will work alongside both Research Scientists and Production Operators.
The ideal candidate will have experience in process optimization. Ideally experience with or knowledge of slot die coating, optical lithography, liquid/solid mixture preparation, lamination, and/or spectrometry. This individual should have the ability to develop, improve, and follow standard work instructions. The candidate should have experience in all these aspects of the position, be able to work meticulously, independently and be prompt and responsive in delivery of work product.
We work at a fast pace and require everyone to be highly self‑motivated and independent. We are seeking a flexible thinker. Someone able to problem‑solve outside of their respective technical area.
Qualifications- Proficiency in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems
- Strong skills in installation and configuration of technical equipment and systems
- Ability to effectively diagnose and resolve technical problems onsite or remotely
- Strong understanding of safety guidelines and compliance with industry standards
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to train customers on system use
- Willingness to travel to client sites, domestically or internationally
- Open to potential temporary relocation during customer's system installation (could be up to 6~12 months)
- Able to work in clean room for extended period
- Hands‑on experience with standard cleanroom processing equipment(microelectronics or semiconductor) preferred
- Experience with customer‑focused roles is a plus
- BS (ME, EE, EME), associate degree or certification in a technical field preferred
Ability to work well under pressure and aggressive deadlines. Proven ability to effectively work as a member of a team. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are essential. Must be able to establish strong working relationships across the organization. Must be data driven and capable of developing and executing engineering test plans and capturing a robust set of data. Must be articulate and capable of producing written work that concisely address the matters assigned.
Strong background in statistics and statistical methods would be desirable.
