National Energy Storage Electrical Leader

The National Energy Storage Electrical Leader manages the Energy Storage Electrical Team within the Renewables Division. They focus on executing efficient service operations, formulating and deploying service strategies, enhancing service offerings, and developing current and future leaders. They are accountable for the performance of all service team members and work closely with market and division leadership to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

• Business Leadership
  • Manage the team’s technical, operational, legal, and financial matters.
  • Determine strategic objectives and requirements by developing and implementing strategies for the team that align with the organization’s goals, focusing on innovation and growth.
  • Offer a clear vision for career advancement opportunities.
  • Lead the team by fostering staff development, efficiently allocating resources, and managing service teams to support projects and clients.
  • Balance workloads across offices and markets while ensuring overall team utilization.
  • Monitor utilization and KPIs to inform hiring decisions; manage professional licenses per market and client needs.
  • Oversee hiring, firing, promotions, and compensation with input from Engineering Managers; offer compensation and benefits recommendations based on industry trends and staff feedback.
  • Identify technical resource requirements and cultivate a strong team culture aligned with Westwood’s values.
  • Develop organizational policies and procedures; suggest necessary facilities, personnel, and funds for programs and projects.
• Staff Development
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team across multiple offices, balancing workloads.
  • Promote teamwork and leadership principles to solve engineering challenges.
  • Implement staff development plans for technical, management, and leadership skills; establish ongoing mentorship for all team members.
  • Identify training programs for the entire team and assess leadership effectiveness.
  • Recognize and cultivate leaders within the team.
• Quality
  • Set standards, training, and quality objectives for the team.
  • Collaborate to establish, implement, monitor, and maintain procedures and quality standards for work products across offices.
  • Evaluate and mitigate risks in proposals, projects, and deliverables; partner with other teams to develop standards and improve processes.
• Technical Responsibilities
  • Develop standards and guidelines; lead the technical aspect of the team.
  • Integrate advanced concepts to solve complex problems; engage in lifelong learning.
• Business Development Support
  • Drive service and market revenue growth; explore additional service-based products with market input.
  • Support market-driven business development with technical expertise; engage with national clients on new products or opportunities.
  • Maintain and enhance client relationships and address escalation issues from market teams and clients.

• 8+ years of experience in engineering consulting
• 5+ years of experience leading design teams
• Experience working for: (1) an engineering consulting firm or (2) EPCs, developers, or construction contractors in the renewable energy sector
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program
• Professional Engineer
