Performance Lead Engineer - Location:
Plano, TX - Contract Duration: 9 Months
- Provide performance testing capabilities for complex applications
- Work with stakeholders daily to design test cases, create performance test scripts, and execute performance scenarios
- Write technical performance test plans
- Use Load Runner (or JMeter) to design and execute load and performance tests
- Lead data creation activities for required load tests
- Design and execute various load tests (load, failover, aging, etc.)
- Collaborate closely with application development, architecture, infrastructure, and production support groups for defect triage and production planning
- Report findings according to a defined process, such as sending an email
- Participate in project/team meetings and actively contribute
- 5-10 years of previous hands‑on experience as a developer and/or performance architect
- Well‑versed in using VUGen 9.5+ for advanced test script development beyond built‑in record and playback capabilities
- Experience with programming languages: C, Java, SQL, scripting, and specialized Python programming
- Experience using load management applications (e.g., LoanIQ – Finastra)
- Ability to use monitoring/profiling tools:
Dynatrace, CA Wily Introscope, App Dynamics, AWR reports, Splunk - Knowledge of web protocols: HTTP, Citrix
- Understanding of distributed load test environments and application architecture
- Knowledge of performance bottlenecks and end‑to‑end web performance measures
- Strong analytical skills and ability to research and resolve complex system/application/user issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot load and performance test environments with Load Runner
