As they continue to grow, they are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Estimator to join their team in Plano, Texas.
Role OverviewThe Senior Civil Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for large-scale renewable energy and civil infrastructure projects. This role plays a critical part in securing new work and supporting project delivery from preconstruction through execution.
You will collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, project management, and leadership teams to ensure high-quality, commercially sound bids.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for civil and infrastructure scopes, including earthworks, foundations, drainage, roads, and utilities
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports to develop comprehensive take-offs
- Lead pricing for EPC and design-build renewable energy projects (solar, wind, battery storage)
- Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Develop and maintain estimating databases, cost models, and benchmarks
- Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options during bid development
- Support bid reviews, commercial strategies, and proposal submissions
- Work closely with project teams during handover to ensure estimate alignment
- Mentor junior estimators and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred not essential)
- 7+ years of experience in civil estimating, preferably within EPC or heavy civil construction
- Strong knowledge of site development, earthworks, foundations, and civil utilities
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., Heavy Bid, Bluebeam, Excel, Primavera, or similar)
- Ability to interpret complex construction drawings and specifications
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills
