Job Overview
We are looking to hire a FPGA Engineer to join a company in the telecom industry paving the way through 5G wireless. The Advanced FPGA Engineer will play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and optimization of FPGA‑based solutions for various projects. This position requires onsite work in Plano, TX.
Responsibilities- Design FPGA‑based systems to meet project requirements.
- Implement and optimize FPGA designs for performance, power, and area efficiency.
- Collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate FPGA solutions into larger systems.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure reliability and functionality of FPGA designs.
- Debug and troubleshoot FPGA designs, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
- Generate clear and comprehensive documentation for FPGA designs, including specifications, test plans, and user guides.
- Maintain version‑controlled design documentation throughout the development lifecycle.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in FPGA design.
- Explore and recommend new tools, methodologies, and techniques to enhance FPGA development processes.
- Contribute to project planning for FPGA development activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands‑on experience in FPGA design and development.
- Simulation/verification experience.
- Strong understanding of high‑speed digital design principles.
- Expertise in RTL‑optimized design techniques in digital and DSP domains with Verilog/System Verilog and/or VHDL.
- Proficient in using FPGA design‑verification tools from vendors such as Xilinx/AMD or Altera/Intel, simulator Questasim.
- Experience with Cocotb (UVM is nice, but prefer Cocotb). Prefer to have 5G/ORAN background, but strong Cocotb, Python and simulation experience will be considered.
The role is based onsite in Plano, TX, working five days a week. The work environment is collaborative and fast‑paced, focusing on the development of multiband radio units for ORAN technology in the 5G domain.
