Process Controls Engineer - Job Level: Professional IV
The Process Controls Engineer provides process control engineering solutions and support to DKL Operations and Technical teams. This role involves working with industrial automation, plant control systems, and data communication applications. The incumbent will perform moderately complex assignments, develop the ability to handle more complex work, and analyze possible solutions using standard procedures, guidelines or policies, with guidance as needed.

Education And Experience- 4 year / Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
- Master’s Degree (Preferred)
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- 3-5 years of midstream pipeline and/or gas processing experience preferred, or 6+ years of refining, or upstream oil & gas experience required
- 3-5 years of Delta
V support and programming experience in continuous process facilities, preferably in midstream gas processing or downstream petrochemical or refining operation - Additional experience in other programming languages such as Visual Basic, C++/C#, Microsoft SQL Server is beneficial
- Working knowledge of PHMSA regulations, DOT Part 195, ASME B31.3, B31.8, B31.4 design standards, and API Recommended Practices
- Overnight travel to company locations and facilities for meetings, training, special projects, or information gathering may be required
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license; must be able to obtain a TWIC card; must be willing to submit to DOT random drug & alcohol screening
- Master’s Degree in an ABET-Engineering program
- 5-8 years operating midstream company engineering experience
- Professional Engineering Licensure desirable

- Under supervision, develops industrial automation, plant control, database, and data communication applications
- Under supervision, creates PLC/DCS applications for midstream facilities
- Develops on Delta
V, Allen-Bradley Logix, ABB FlowX, Omni, and Modicon platforms - Develops HMI visualization applications across various vendor environments
- Develops functional specifications, cause & effect diagrams, controls narratives, I/O lists, and SCADA configuration sheets
- Under supervision, designs, programs, tests, and supports PLC and DCS programming for site-wide control systems
- Collaborates with Delek Logistics’ Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls Engineering team
- Attends FAT, conducts CAT, and coordinates SCADA point-to-point activities and loop checks as needed
- Follows Delek’s management of change (MOC) process for programming changes and site upgrades
- Reviews project documentation, drawings, equipment specifications, and control narratives
- Under supervision, provides capital and expense project support and feasibility and simulation studies
