Pay Scale: $165,000 - $175,000 annual base salary

We are seeking a highly experienced Mainframe Storage Engineer to lead and support large-scale infrastructure initiatives. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and optimizing mainframe storage environments, including upgrades, migrations, capacity planning, and disaster recovery. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on engineering expertise as well as architectural/design experience.

• Design and implement mainframe storage architecture solutions
• Lead data center move projects, including role swaps and disaster recovery
• Plan and execute refreshes/upgrades across storage platforms
• Perform capacity management and optimize cost efficiency
• Drive I/O performance tuning and troubleshooting across storage and network layers
• Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to ensure reliable, secure storage delivery

• 10+ years in Mainframe Storage Engineering & Architecture
• Expertise in Storage Architecture, Encryption, and Fiber Protocols (FICON)
• Strong background with HCD/IOCP and I/O Performance (DASD, Switches, Virtual Tape)
• Experience with refreshes/upgrades:
  Brocade directors/switches, Hitachi DASD, IBM Virtual Tape (TS7700s)
• Skilled in SAN replication design & configuration
• Capacity planning (network/switches, storage) and cost benefit analysis/consolidation/reduction
• Proven experience in data center migrations, role swaps, and DR exercises
