Alpha School leverages AI‑driven 1:1 instruction so students complete their core academics in roughly two hours daily. The remaining time is dedicated to life skills, passion projects, and substantive development. At our most demanding campuses, students require more than oversight. They need a credible mentor capable of assessing dynamics, establishing expectations, and guiding them through resistance, distraction, and uncertainty.

This is not a conventional teaching position. You will not deliver lectures, assign grades, or develop curriculum. You will coach. You will facilitate structured life‑skills sessions. You will interpret data to identify obstacles preventing student progress, then intervene with precision and empathy until they execute.

• Conduct 1:1 and small‑group coaching that converts student objectives into reliable execution and quantifiable outcomes
• Leverage analytics and goal data to identify barriers and design challenging, personalized motivation strategies
• Facilitate structured life‑skills workshops grounded in authentic storytelling, guided reflection, and practical application, followed by competency assessment
• Direct daily opening sessions that establish culture, uphold high expectations, and prepare students before work begins
• Build credible mentor relationships with students and families through sustained standards, reliability, and thoughtful judgment

• Deliver traditional instruction, lectures, or tutoring sessions
• Develop curriculum, construct lesson plans, or evaluate student assignments
• Supervise staff, oversee campus operations, or assume administrative leadership responsibilities
• Compromise standards to achieve immediate compliance or superficial progress

Ensure that students at Alpha's most rigorous campuses remain deeply motivated and demonstrate continuous growth and life‑skill proficiency through elite, high‑standards coaching.

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline
• At least one verifiable elite marker (competitive athletics, academic distinction, professional achievement, or elite‑level coaching)
• Demonstrated experience in mentoring, coaching, or leadership roles that produced measurable improvements in others' performance
• Ability to thrive in high‑accountability settings with defined standards and consistent follow‑through
• Capability to facilitate compelling, high‑rigor group sessions and provide individual coaching with sound judgment
• Commitment to full‑time, in‑person work at an Alpha campus:

  Santa Barbara, CA; or New York City, NY
• Authorization to work in the United States

• Track record using data and analytics to inform coaching strategies and accountability systems
• Experience in competitive firms, high‑growth startups, or elite athletics programs characterized by demanding performance standards

This is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $75 USD/hour, which equates to $150,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
