Role SummaryThe Automotive Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic vehicle systems. Work is performed according to OEM procedures, NAS standards, and dealership‑level expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Perform software updates and upgrades on vehicle electronic control units (ECUs), infotainment systems, and advanced driver‑assistance systems (ADAS).
- Diagnose software‑related issues using OEM diagnostic tools and resolve compatibility or performance problems.
- Inspect engines and mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic components; diagnose issues using OEM tools and diagnostic systems.
- Perform both major and minor engine, drive train, and electrical repairs up to and including complete overhauls.
- Meet or exceed production objectives; follow shop policies, procedures, safety, and environmental rules.
- Keep work spaces clean and organized at all times.
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members; uphold customer satisfaction standards.
- Proven and verifiable experience as an automotive or dealership technician.
- Proven experience with software updates and high proficiency working with computers.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic vehicle systems.
- Ability to use diagnostic scanners, hand tools, power tools, and lifts safely.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass pre‑employment background/MVR/drug screening.
- ASE certifications, or graduated from an Automotive Technical School.
- Experience with EV/hybrid systems.
- Previous OEM dealership experience.
