Director of Accounting

A rapidly expanding organization is seeking a Director to lead technical accounting, revenue recognition, reporting advisory, SOX compliance, and sales & use tax oversight. This role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across the enterprise. The Director will lead a high‑performing accounting team while partnering cross‑functionally to support growth, process improvement, and operational excellence.

• Lead all technical accounting and reporting advisory activities
• Oversee revenue recognition and related cost analyses under ASC 606 and ASC 340‑40
• Prepare and review technical accounting memos on complex transactions
• Advise leadership on accounting standards and reporting implications
• Develop and maintain enterprise accounting policies, procedures, and SOX‑aligned controls
• Ensure compliance with internal and external reporting requirements
• Manage quarterly and annual financial reporting processes
• Partner with external auditors on audits and SOX testing
• Lead and mentor a team of accounting and tax professionals
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate and consistent financial reporting
• Stay current on new accounting standards and assess impacts on financial reporting
• Reassess and enhance accounting processes and policies to align with evolving requirements
• Participate in special projects and enterprise initiatives as needed

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA required
• 5+ years of experience in technical accounting, revenue recognition, reporting advisory, and SOX compliance
• Strong technical knowledge of GAAP and SOX requirements
• Hands‑on experience with sales & use tax preferred
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving abilities
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and manage competing priorities
• Proficiency with accounting systems, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools
