L&E is looking for a senior accountant from a professional services environment (law/engineering/consulting or similar) who can mentor junior staff and grow into a larger leadership role.

Lewis & Ellis (L&E) is a nationally recognized actuarial consulting firm with a legacy of excellence since 1968. With over 50 actuaries nationwide and a global client base, we provide expert consulting services across life, health, and property & casualty insurance.

Base pay: $92,000 to 120,000/yr

• Lead the month, quarter, and year-end close (journal entries, accruals, reconciliations).
• Deliver key reporting and variance analysis; flag issues early and recommend fixes.
• Review GL activity and supporting data to identify and resolve errors and gaps.
• Coordinate audit and tax support (schedules, documentation, auditor requests).
• Coach junior accountants on GAAP, close routines, and best practices.
• Improve processes and controls in Net Suite, supporting acquisition integrations.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 4-6+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong ownership of month-end close.
• Demonstrated lead-level capability (reviewing others' work, coaching junior staff, or serving as the close go-to).
• Strong GAAP knowledge; financial reporting experience is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivots, lookups, nested formulas, SUMIFS, etc.);
  Net Suite or similar ERP preferred.
• Professional services experience (law/engineering/consulting or similar); WIP/job/project costing experience strongly preferred.
