Advocates of guest experience who welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment and store cleanliness. Advocates of both in-store and digital services and solutions who are knowledgeable about capabilities and features that drive adoption, usage and ultimately guest loyalty. Empowered to make shopping quick and easy for guests at the checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up and drive up while ensuring exceptional quality.

As a Guest Advocate, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
- Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete daily tasks
- Engage with guests to help solve their specific needs
- Make guests aware of current promotions, store activities and events
- Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services available in the total store, and in your area, to solve issues and improve the guest experience
- Thank guests and let them know you’re happy they chose to shop at Target
- Know and speak to the benefits of Target Loyalty programs and assist with application or sign-up as needed
- Scan and bag items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with safety standards
- Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy
- Understand and show guests how to use features within the Target App, including Wallet
- Be familiar with Order Pick-Up, Drive Up and online ordering, and direct guests to enroll, activate and use these features
- Handle returns following store policies; collaborate with leaders as needed to resolve guest issues
- Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area by gathering unpurchased items, baskets, and hangers for removal
- Stock supplies during store hours while remaining available for guests
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance
- Work safely; comply with safety policies and training; report hazards and correct where possible
- Support guest services such as order pickup (OPU), Drive-up (DU) orders, and maintain compliance with applicable laws
- All other duties based on business needs

Training and baseline skills

- Willingness to educate guests and engage around products and services
- Ability to operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Stay focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks within time frames
Basic expectations
- Accurately handle checkout operations, transactions and support cash office operations as needed
- Scan, handle and move merchandise safely; frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 44 pounds
- Flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays); reliable attendance
- Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a shift
- Work in varying temperatures and conditions, including duties related to Drive-Up and carryout
