. The position supports the Lead Medical Assistant, Practice Manager, and Practice Supervisor in maintaining efficient patient flow and delivering quality care as part of a non‑judgmental health care team.
- Room patients, take vitals and perform procedures, prescription renewals, triage phone calls, review charts, laboratory test results, schedule patients, and respond to provider messages.
- Prepare exam rooms between patient contact.
- Obtain prior authorizations for office visits, prescriptions, procedures and surgeries.
- Assist inbound and outbound referral process.
- Prepare medical charts including importing medications from pharmacy, preloading vaccines and documenting pre‑visit forms.
- Administer vaccines.
- Assist in scheduling new and established patient appointments as required.
- Communicate with professional skill via phone with patients and health‑care professionals, promote phone standards.
- Evaluate patient phone calls.
- Assist in inbox management and refills under SMA policy.
- Monitor and work appropriately in EMR environment and office workflows.
- Adapt to busy office environment to meet care standards.
- Understand supply management processes and needs.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork ability.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with patients promoting an excellent and safe patient experience.
- Commitment to patient experience and quality improvement in the outpatient setting.
- Ability to measure and document vitals, take temperature, draw blood, weight and height.
- Ability to obtain a basic medical history including chief complaint, medication history, social history, and family history.
- Ability to prepare all patients for examinations with necessary medical supplies.
- Maintains clinical competency and continuous education.
- Knowledge and appropriate use of medical terminology.
- Reviews, processes and routes clinical documentation.
- Establishes excellent rapport with patients including patient education.
- Works collaboratively with other health‑care professionals in providing outcome‑oriented care.
- Demonstrates problem solving and thrives in a fast‑paced work environment.
- Maintains a safe and healthy environment for patients and co‑workers by following standards and procedures.
- Demonstrates necessary functions to maintain continuity of care for patients.
- Demonstrates ability to cross‑train to assist front‑desk staff if necessary.
- Graduate of a two‑year accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical Assistant Certificate.

Repetitive motion of upper body is required for extended use of computer. Required specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Salary Range: $19.87–$24.23.
