The Massachusetts Gaming Commission is seeking to hirea

Licensing Office Employee.

Reporting to the Director of Racing,this position is responsible for providing seasonal administrative support to enable the Racing Division of the MGC to operate efficiently, including occupational licensing, certain investigatory and payroll functions, and related duties as assigned.

This position will be based at Plainridge Park in Plainville, MA.The anticipated dates of service are April through November.

• Issues occupational licenses to all racing participants, following review by State Police and judges or stewards
• Collects licensing fees and outstanding administrative fines
• Responds to requests for information from occupational licensees and other racing operations offices
• Provides administrative support for Racing Division Judges and the Director of Racing
• Maintains the Commission field office in a neat and professional manner

• Previous experience in the MGC racing division or with another racetrack preferred
• Experience working with law enforcement personnel
• Previous similar experience in a local, state, or federal government agency setting
• Experience with relevant software applications, especially Microsoft Office Suite

The successful candidate must pass an extensive background check conducted by the Massachusetts State Police. It includes a full credit check, CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information), fingerprinting, drug test, reference checks, review of IRS Income Tax Transcripts for the last four years, and a Certificate of Good Standing from the Massachusetts Dept. of Revenue (DOR).

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission is responsible for the implementation of the expanded gaming law (Chapter 194 of the Acts of 2011) and regulatory oversight of G.L. chapter 23K (casino gaming), chapter 23N (sports wagering), and chapter 128A (horse racing). Under these laws, the Commission is tasked with establishing a regulatory framework for the solicitation, licensing, taxation, and oversight of a maximum of three casino licenses and one slots parlor only license, the provision of in-person and digital sports wagering, and the live and simulcasting of horse racing in Massachusetts.
