Staff Accountant

A well-established construction management and general contracting firm with operations on the East Coast is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the Controller with day-to-day accounting operations.

This is a hands‑on role focused on transactional accounting, job costing, and general ledger support within a construction environment. It’s an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with strong fundamentals and construction experience to play a key role within a collaborative team.

• Assist with daily accounting operations under the direction of the Controller
• Perform job costing and support project cost tracking
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes
• Support audit preparation and tax filings
• Analyze financial data and assist with financial reporting
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate cost and revenue reporting
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Construction industry experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations
• Experience with job costing
• Proficiency in Quick Books (required)
• Experience with Procore is a plus
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
• Base salary up to $85,000 (depending on experience)
