A Substitute Middle School PE Teacher is responsible for managing a safe, active, and inclusive environment where students can engage in physical activity.
Core Responsibilities- Instructional Delivery: Follow the permanent teacher’s lesson plans, which may include skill‑building drills, team sports, or fitness testing.
- Supervision & Safety: Monitor students closely in the gymnasium, weight room, or outdoor fields to prevent injuries and ensure equipment is used correctly.
- Locker Room Management: Oversee transitions to and from the locker rooms, ensuring students remain on task and maintain a respectful environment.
- Conflict Resolution: Mediate minor disputes that often arise during competitive play and promote the principles of sportsmanship and fair play.
- Administrative Tasks: Record attendance, document any incidents or injuries, and leave a detailed summary of the day for the permanent teacher.
