Our client in Plainfield, IN is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee daily maintenance operations to ensure production equipment, machinery, and facility systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. In this role, you will lead a team of maintenance technicians, manages preventive maintenance programs, supports root cause analysis for equipment failures, and drives continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
Essential Functions:- Directs maintenance activities for injection molding, blow molding, and packaging equipment.
- Leads the maintenance department, including reviewing and approving preventive maintenance documentation.
- Schedules, coordinates, and manages all preventive maintenance tasks.
- Builds and develops a high-performing mechanical and preventive maintenance team to ensure optimal equipment performance, high line efficiency, and proper parts inventory management.
- Oversees external contractors performing facility installations and project work.
- Collaborates with internal departments to support production needs and meet customer deadlines.
- Recruits, hires, trains, coaches, and evaluates employees; partners with HR on discipline, terminations, and staffing needs.
- Provides oversight for safety initiatives and enforces all safety standards and requirements.
- Fosters a positive and productive work environment.
- Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Identifies opportunities to improve working conditions and equipment usage to increase operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoots and assists staff in resolving work-related issues.
- Maintains accurate time, maintenance, and equipment records.
- Develops capital expenditure proposals for new equipment and technology to enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve cycle times.
- Estimates, requests, and inspects materials as needed.
- Ensures a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications
- 4 years of experience in a manufacturing or related environment
- 4 years of experience in a similar role
- 4 years of experience managing people and/or projects
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift
- 6 years of experience in a manufacturing or related environment
- 6 years of experience in a similar role
- 6 years of experience managing people and/or projects
- Required: Associate’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field/vocational discipline
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field/vocational discipline
