Senior Maintenance Operations Manager, Supply Chain

Position Summary...

Oversees and manages productivity of area of responsibility by preparing, reviewing, and/or analyzing business reports, communicating goals and managing staffing, scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads in order to achieve facility goals, identifying associate, customer, and/or supplier concerns and determining corrective action to take or make recommendations in order to resolve.

Manages associates and leaders in area of responsibility by giving direction, monitoring performance, and providing feedback, identifying training and development needs and providing opportunities for learning and growth, teaching, supporting, and modeling Logistics and company policies and procedures, and participating in the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates, leaders, and managers.

Drives the business plan for area of responsibility to achieve facility goals—for example, production, quality, safety—by implementing operational improvements, monitoring and tracking expenses and capital expenditures compared to budget, monitoring asset utilization, and developing/distributing and/or maintaining procedures and supporting documentation.

Builds and leads a team to execute on business area objectives. Coaches team members and provides feedback to enhance skills, knowledge, and work performance. Conducts performance and career development conversations. Mentors Maintenance Area Managers and Maintenance Operations Managers.

Ensures maintenance department daily operations are performed properly by monitoring and driving department performance related to maintaining warehouse equipment—for example material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, air compressors, general building repairs—and monitoring and ensuring associate compliance with state and federal regulations—for example OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Storm Water, DOT, etc.—relating to maintenance operations.

Develops technical expertise in multiple complex equipment systems and technologies. Evaluates and implements equipment performance monitoring improvements for all automated sortation systems within a large Distribution Center. Coordinates with senior leaders and Engineering to provide input into the design to ensure successful implementation of modified and new equipment within the Distribution center.

Leads Maintenance Technicians and Maintenance Area Managers trainings as required. Reviews maintenance budget estimates ensuring efficient usage of funds through eliminating poor repetitive purchases. Collaborates with Maintenance Area Managers and Maintenance Operations Managers to ensure optimization of capacity and service delivery.

Coordinates incident response and resolution within the Distribution center. Supports and collaborates with other functions at Walmart such as Human Resources and Inventory Control, Quality Assurance (ICQA) to achieve objectives. Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs, developing and communicating business plans and priorities, removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance, providing resources, identifying performance standards, measuring progress, and adjusting performance accordingly, developing contingency plans and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.

Coordinates completes and oversees job‑related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, identifying and communicating goals and objectives, building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results, identifying and addressing improvement opportunities and demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning.

Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring and training, mentoring, assigning duties, providing recognition, and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace.
