IT Support Specialist

This position assists staff with technical support of desktop computers, applications, and related technology. Support includes specification, installation, and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines. Activities require interaction with applications software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, problems. The role supports both office staff and warehousing operations, emphasizing troubleshooting of Windows OS, desktop applications, wireless networks, RF equipment, and thermal printers.

• Installing and configuring computer systems.
• Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks.
• Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults.
• Creating and updating documentation on systems, processes, and solutions.
• Providing procedural support and documentation.
• Following diagrams and written instructions to repair faults or set up systems.
• Running network applications to support systems and users.
• Supporting new applications.
• Setting up new users; training and orienting coworkers on use of hardware and software.
• Responding within agreed time limits to help calls.
• Prioritizing and managing several open cases simultaneously.
• Working with existing Power Shell scripts and learning Power Shell 2.

Assist in company wide activities associated with the department.

Bachelor’s degree or an Information Technology related major, 2+ years’ experience supporting a warehouse environment, experience with Zebra (or other label printers), RF and wireless networks, strong oral and written communication skills, and excellent customer service skills.

Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with additional time as needed. The workplace involves moderate noise levels and requires frequent standing, sitting, talking, and occasional walking and reaching with hands and arms.

Plainfield, Indiana (and other facilities in Reno, Nevada, and Garner, North Carolina).
