What you will be doing

The Human Resources Generalist serves as the primary point of contact for all Human Resources and Health & Safety-related policies, procedures, and employment law matters. This role provides day-to-day HR support across all core functional areas, including recruitment, staffing and onboarding, performance and talent management, learning and development, and health & safety.

Acting as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, the HR Generalist ensures consistent application of HR policies, supports a positive and compliant workplace, and contributes to the effective delivery of people programs aligned with business objectives. The role partners closely with management to drive employee engagement, support organizational effectiveness, and uphold company values and regulatory requirements.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for leaders and employees on Human Resources and Health & Safety policies, procedures, and practices, providing clear guidance and consistent interpretation.
  • Execute and support all employee lifecycle transactions, including hires, promotions, transfers, terminations, and cost center changes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with established processes.
  • Partner with Branch Management to support employee well-being and workplace safety by coordinating Health & Safety programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, delivering training, investigating incidents, and supporting Joint Health & Safety Committees (JHSC).
  • Integrate core HR practices with workplace risk management initiatives to promote a strong culture of safety and accountability.
  • Support employee engagement and organizational effectiveness by partnering with leaders to develop effective structures, processes, and talent strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Coordinate and support training and development initiatives in collaboration with department leaders, including skill development, career planning, and succession readiness.
  • Support and reinforce the organization's people and culture strategy, ensuring the right talent is in the right roles.
  • Manage day-to-day recruitment activities, including reviewing job descriptions, screening applications, participating in interviews, and supporting candidate selection decisions.
  • Partner with the Regional HR team to support the local implementation of global HR development and talent initiatives.
  • Act as a role model for company culture and values, embedding them into all HR practices and interactions.
  • Monitor employment legislation and government requirements to ensure ongoing compliance with policies, procedures, and reporting obligations.
  • Oversee compensation and benefits administration, ensuring internal equity, market competitiveness, and alignment with budgetary guidelines; support annual renewals and program reviews.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee benefits inquiries, changes, and issue resolution.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to frontline managers on HR policies, performance management, employee relations, and people leadership practices.
  • Proactively anticipate business and people needs, contributing to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support business and organizational objectives.
What skills & experience you will bring to us
  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 2+ years of progressive Human Resources experience; SHRM considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience building effective teams and successfully leading or contributing to HR-related projects and initiatives.
