ReNuke Services is seeking a Project Controls Cost Engineer for our client’s site in Plainfield, IN.
Per diem is available for eligible candidates.
DescriptionThis 12‑month assignment relates to project controls cost engineering support for the Duke Energy Coal Combustion Products Midwest Project Portfolio. The role will support schedule reporting & analysis for multiple project sites across the company’s Midwest service territory.
The principal responsibilities include leading the development of the cost management reporting systems for project controls assignments, performing complex aspects of individual project cost estimating, and detail job cost control along with scheduling and change management documentation while reporting up to program or portfolio level. The position is a technical SME support role requiring college level reasoning via formal education or work experience, and mastery of project controls principles and associated software tools.

- Project Risk Management best practices.
- Review and analysis of contractor and vendor performance.
- Duke Financial and cost management systems.
- Project Change Control processes.
- Graduation from a four‑year college or university – business, finance, project management, engineering, technical, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 7 years of project controls experience, or 11 years in lieu of a degree.
- Proficiency with project management / project controls concepts, computer applications, analytics; strong collaborative team member.
- Ability to lead complex assignments.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Master’s degree in business, finance, project management, or equivalent.
- PMI or AACE certification (PMP, CAPM, PMI‑SP, AACE‑CCC, AACE‑PSP, AACE‑CEP, AACE‑EVP).
- Experience with MS Office Suite, Primavera, Business Objects, Prolog, Passport, Visio, Access, Powerplant, Maximo or EAM, People Soft, risk management tools / Monte Carlo analysis.
- Expert user of Excel.
- Prior Duke Energy or utility experience.
40 hours, Monday through Friday, with travel to the Midwest project sites three days per week.
