Responsibilities include:
research, develop and launch innovative key sustainability programs including recycling, reuse, and waste minimization for clients. Identify, develop, and maintain strategic relationships with recycling and reuse vendors to process by‑product and waste materials. Partner with various Clean Earth internal teams (Operations, Procurement, EHS and Commercial) to build internal partnerships to execute company‑wide recycling, reuse, and waste minimization opportunities.
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Research the recycling/reuse industry to identify and develop recycling/reuse/waste minimization solutions with industry experts for Client waste streams.
- Works with Leadership, Commercial and Operations teams to identify and prioritize Client opportunities for innovative solutions
- Assesses client current programs
- Schedule and lead internal/external meetings for project development/modification/ expansion
- Builds & Implements solutions for Client opportunities
- Leads building of complex programs, based on assessments and client goals
- Evaluation of waste/recycling needs, equipment, logistics, recycling & Product Stewardship
- Make recommendations for go‑forward practices and best in class waste management alternatives that promote product stewardship, sustainability and recycling improvements for new and existing client programs
- Develop and manage internal and external project solution timelines for all Client projects assigned.
- Leads/manages implementation of innovative solutions across multiple internal functional groups leading to growth for new innovative solutions/best practices
- Participates in customer facing meetings and Commercial activities as they relate to Innovative Solutions for potential/current Clients.
- Develop & maintain strategic vendor network outlets and relationships for recycling, reuse, alternative use, and commodities solutions, including vendor site visits as needed
- Identify and pursue relationships with emerging and innovative companies in the recycling and reuse marketplace
- Establishes and/or guides pricing discussions with vendor partners, evaluating geographic recycling/reuse solutions
- Build national and regional capabilities where gaps exist in network
- Partner with Procurement & EHS for achievement of compliance, contract and service agreement with vendor partners
- Develop vendor partner strategy plans
- Serve as a liaison between Clean Earth Commercial, Operations, functional groups & Full circle teams and vendor partners as needed
- Responsible for creation and maintenance of new SOPs, work instructions, and guidance documents
- Conduct and participate in internal business reviews to present and review information with/to Senior Leadership
- Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.
Basic
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Sustainability, Chemistry, or Biology
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in hazardous/industrial waste & recycling industry specifically in commercial and or vendor relations
- Working knowledge of RCRA, DOT, regulatory environment
- Up to 30% travel including driving and or flying
