Accounts Receivable Specialist

Description We are looking for a skilled Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Plainfield, Indiana. This contract position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic wholesale distribution environment by overseeing financial transactions and ensuring accurate record-keeping. Responsibilities:

- Manage customer accounts, ensuring invoices are issued promptly and accurately.

- Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue payments to maintain healthy cash flow.

- Process cash applications and perform reconciliations of accounts to ensure accurate financial records.

- Address billing inquiries and resolve payment issues through clear communication with customers.

- Generate accounts receivable reports and assist with month-end closing activities.

- Collaborate with internal teams to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.

- Suggest and implement improvements to accounts receivable processes for greater efficiency.

- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all financial transactions. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable or a related financial role.

- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting software is a plus.

- Effective communication skills for resolving customer issues and collaborating with teams.

- Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Problem-solving skills to identify and address discrepancies or inefficiencies.

- Experience with cash applications, collections, and billing functions.

- Knowledge of commercial collections and cash activity procedures.
