We are seeking a dedicated Ward Clerk to implement facility policies and procedures to organize and maintain the medical record (health information) system in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements

- High School Diploma required (Degree in Medical Records preferred)
- One year of experience preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Implement policies and procedures to maintain the medical record system in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Protect medical record information from loss, defacing, or destruction before the retention period ends
- Identify and address incomplete, late, and inaccurate documentation
- Assist healthcare professionals by ensuring that all medical records are accurate, up to date, and properly filed
- Computerize medical record data as required and maintain electronic documentation systems
- Coordinate with all departments to facilitate smooth documentation flow and accuracy
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations
