The Accounting Clerk supports the financial health of Allen Force and one of the main duties is to keep track of the full accounting cycle from start to finish. Responsible for incorporating all the accounts, journal entries, debits, and credits, adjusting entries over a full cycle. Additional responsibilities include working directly with the accounting firm as well as ensuring that all required reports are completed on time and tracking grant submissions (from start to finish) and then when awarded creating all required reports for review before submission that are deadline driven.
Job Responsibilities- Track and manage all financial data; create and maintain records reflecting all transactions; handling invoicing.
- Prepare, present and file financial documents as required; run weekly, monthly, quarterly and end of year reports as directed by the CEO.
- Assist with grant writing proposals: tracking from time of submission to when they should be awarded; as directed, assist with researching grant funding opportunities.
- Assist the CEO with creating an annual budget; collect and maintain departmental budget communications.
- Ensure all bookkeeping practices are current and within the local laws, non-profit regulations and grant awardees to comply with reporting requirements.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and recognize and correct errors.
- Integrity and discretion when handling the company’s financial data.
- Strong mathematical skills and understanding the basic accounting principles, processes and reports.
- Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Very articulate, displaying excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills; can meet or exceed deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Quickbooks, Gusto, Zoom and other video conferencing platforms.
Associates degree completed in a math and/or accounting discipline preferred for a minimum of 5 years working as a bookkeeper and/or accounting clerk.
- Understanding of the military culture or have served in the military.
