HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES AGENCY The El Dorado County Health And Human Services Agency is committed to transforming lives and improving futures for the citizens of El Dorado County. Their programs and services include:
Behavioral Health, Public Health, Community and Social Services. Their over 600 employees are dedicated to enhancing and enriching the lives of those in their communities.

The Opportunity The Program Coordinator oversees, coordinates and personally performs work in the provision of programs offering direct services and support to seniors and families with special needs and also provides direction to program service delivery and evaluating program status and effectiveness. This class is distinguished from the Manager and Director levels in that classes with those titles have division or department management level responsibility in their area of family and/or senior support.

COMMUNITY SERVICES DIVISION The Health and Human Services Agency’s Community Services Division is the primary provider for community programs and assistance through the El Dorado County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA). This division offers a wide range of services including Veterans Affairs, Animal Services, Public Housing Authority, Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP), Weatherization, and Older Adult Programs. Older Adult programs include The Club Older Adult Day Services Program facility and the Area Agency on Aging (AAA), providing services to residents 60 years and older through programs that include:
Senior Nutrition, Senior Shuttle, Long-Term Care Ombudsman, Senior Legal, Family Caregiver Support Program (FCSP), Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy (HICAP), and more.

Social Services Division - In Home Supportive Services The Social Services Division helps residents meet basic needs and move toward self-sufficiency. Services include Cal Fresh, CalWORKs, Medi-Cal, General Assistance, and employment programs. It also oversees the In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Public Authority, which recruits, processes, and supports service providers for the IHSS program, a Medi-Cal funded initiative that enables eligible individuals 65 or older, blind, or disabled to hire providers for domestic and personal care services, allowing them to remain safely in their own homes and communities.

Selected Candidate Will Have The Opportunity

• Develop program goals and ensure implementation and compliance with contractual or funding agency requirements; participates in the development of the program budget.
• Supervise and coordinate day to day operation of varied senior and family services programs such as rental assistance, food distribution, emergency shelter, information and referral, emergency crisis intervention and senior activities and transportation.
• Provide day-to-day direction, work review and evaluation to assigned staff and volunteers; train staff in work procedure.
• Maintain fiscal records and prepares reports and documentation to ensure that spending is within contractual limitations.
