JOB SUMMARY
The County of El Dorado’s Health and Human Services Agency – Social Services Division is hiring an Employment and Training Worker Supervisor to lead a unit of employees engaged in employability evaluation and provision of employment services. The supervisor will determine eligibility for public assistance programs, supervise staff, and develop and implement procedures for employment and training programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Plan, organize, assign, supervise, and review the work of assigned staff responsible for delivering Employment and Training Worker services.
- Assist in developing and implementing procedures for employment and training and public assistance programs.
- Supervise staff: select, train, motivate, direct personnel; evaluate work for conformance with standards; prepare and deliver performance evaluations; address performance issues and implement discipline and termination procedures.
- Meet with employees individually and in groups to discuss departmental rules, regulations, and policies, and to consult on eligibility and employment issues.
- Review cases for accuracy, compliance, and timeliness, ensuring quality client services.
- Collaborate with other supervisors, management, and staff to set goals, establish guidelines, and coordinate professional and technical staff activities.
- Collaborate with staff and representatives from other divisions, agencies, and the community.
- Represent the department at meetings and conferences.
- Participate in special studies or research projects as assigned.
- Interview complainants and make cause determinations for program participants who are not in compliance.
- Receive and prepare written correspondence, reports, and other documents related to unit activity and mandated federal and state reports.
- Attend supervisory meetings and training as assigned.
We seek a highly motivated and canceric leader to join our team asӣ Employment and Training Worker Supervisor in the Employment Services Program. The program is evolving to a human‐centered, equity‑focused service model, and we need a skilled individual to lead this transformation.
WHAT YOU’LL DO- Focus on meaningful client outcomes and align with state accountability and continuous quality improvement policies.
- Use data to analyze trends, monitor progress, and guide impactful decisions.
- Develop, implement and monitor targeted system improvement plans that increase employment and training worker effectiveness in enhancing participant engagement toward employability and self‑sufficiency.
- Lead and support employment and training workers in providing holistic, individualized services that tackle barriers such as mental health, substance abuse, and domestic violence.
- Ensure worker productivity benchmarks are met and ensure accurate, timely and appropriate service delivery to program participants.
- Build strong partnerships with community organizations, schools, and local employers to create a network that empowers families.
- Two (2) years of full‑time experience performing duties equivalent to the County’s classes of Eligibility Supervisor or Social Worker Supervisor I.
- One (1) year of full‑time experience performing duties equivalent to the County’s class of Employment and Training Worker III.
- Three (3) years of full‑time experience performing duties equivalent to the County’s class of Employment and Training Worker II.
- Three (3) years of full‑time professional casework experience performing publicly funded vocational guidance services, employment counseling or placement services, with at least one (1) year of lead or supervisory experience in a social services program, and completion of 15 semester (22.5 quarter) college units in career planning, vocational guidance principles, personality development, occupational testing and measurement, or counseling preparation.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain and maintain, a valid California or Nevada Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record.
