Instructional Assistant – Special Services Program

El Dorado County Office of Education (EDCOE) invites you to apply for the Instructional Assistant – Special Services Program for the  academic year.

  • Additional Salary Info: EDCOE pays $600/month toward medical (pro‑rated for part‑time); no cost dental, life insurance, EAP, long‑term disability; vision $4.87/month;
    CalPERS retirement.
  • Length of Work Year: 5 days per week, 10 months per year, hours may vary
  • Employment Type: Part‑time

Job Summary:

  • Assist in supervising classroom, playground, and community activities of students with disabilities and Juvenile Hall students.
  • Present instructional material under teacher’s direction to individual students or small groups.
  • Relieve teacher of routine clerical duties.

Requirements /

Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    Successful interaction with children in a classroom or other structured setting, preferably with students with disabilities.
  • Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent plus two years of college (48 units), or an A.A. degree (or higher), or pass a local assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting with instruction. All applicants must pass testing to be placed on an eligibility list.
