Laundry Attendant

Job Summary: This position maintains cleanliness, presentation and sanitary conditions of resident laundry as assigned on a daily basis.

• Contribute to Community relationships by demonstrating cooperation and professional conduct with residents, families, fellow associates, physicians, pharmacies and other vendors or persons.
• Contribute to team effort by being flexible in work assignments; by furnishing support; by taking initiative; and by understanding how this position affects and compliments all other Community positions.
• Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Laundry Processing: Sorting, washing, drying, folding, and hanging linens, towels, and clothing.
  • Stain Treatment: Inspecting items for stains and applying appropriate cleaning agents.
  • Machine Maintenance: Cleaning dryer lint traps, cleaning machines, and reporting maintenance issues to supervisors.
  • Inventory & Supplies: Monitoring inventory levels of clean linen and laundry supplies (detergent, bleach).
  • Cleaning & Safety: Maintaining a clean and sanitized laundry room, following safety protocols for handling chemicals and infected linens.

• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy laundry loads.
• Attention to Detail: Ensuring fabrics are washed correctly and folded properly.
• Time Management: Working efficiently to meet daily production goals.
• Communication: Ability to follow instructions and communicate with team members.

• Must be willing and able to work required and scheduled shifts, including evenings, weekends, overtime and holidays.
• May work in wet or slippery conditions.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noisy.
