Purpose

Responsible for ensuring the company’s financial records are accurate and complete.

Ideal Candidate

Has a strong knowledge of accounting principles; a high level of accuracy in data entry and numerical calculations; maintains accurate records, including ledgers, journals, receipts, and invoices.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of accounting and bookkeeping experience
  • Current experience using accounting software such as: Quick Books, Sage 100 is a big PLUS!
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office:
    Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills needed
  • Accuracy when entering financial data
  • Outstanding math and research skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Proficiency with 10-key typing and data entry
  • Deadline-driven with excellent time management ability

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable & Receivables: Processing vendor invoices, manages payments, reconciles accounts, ensures purchase orders, receipts and invoices are matched; prepares, codes and verifies pricing amounts for data input; checks invoices, purchase orders, check requests and requisitions for payment processing; obtains approval when necessary. posts debits/credits to proper account.
  • Financial Recording & Reporting: Maintains accurate journals and ledgers, prepares financial statements and bank deposits; records expenses.
  • Reconciliation: Reconciles bank statements, credit cards, and general ledger accounts; balances entries and makes necessary adjustments/calculations..
  • Compliance & Auditing: Ensuring compliance with internal controls and supporting internal/external audits.
  • Communication: Resolves discrepancies with vendors and clients; answers inquiries regarding invoicing and billing.
  • Handles petty cash account and other accounting duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred but not required.
