Asphalt Plant Laborer

Our asphalt plant laborer will perform a wide range of general duties at an asphalt plant including but not limited to: shoveling, moving materials, and maintaining good housekeeping while adhering to all safety regulations.

• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies, rules and regulations of OSHA/MSHA and Pennsy Supply, Inc.
• Determine the need for fuel, coolants, lubricants, ignition aids, and add as needed; inspect, lubricate, and service truck and report vehicle condition to Supervisor.
• Prepare to learn dozer, excavator, plant loader, pit loader and pit hauler and any other mobile equipment associated with the quarry operation.
• Maintain a high degree of care and attention required to prevent injury to others in highly congested areas.
• Maintain correct stockpiling techniques to ensure material does not segregate.
• Responsible for stocking proper product on correct stockpiles.
• Assist the plant operator when needed.
• Remove dust from the dust silo.
• Clean materials under conveyors and plant areas.
• Perform general laboring duties when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Must submit to a drug screen and criminal background check.
• Able to work various times during the day, night, or weekend hours, at various locations.

• High school Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Previous experience working in or around an asphalt plant helpful but not required.
