Job Description

Mercury Group Staffing isseeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join a team and lead the installation of telecommunications equipment in central office or customer premise locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical or electrical engineering, with a focus on telecommunications infrastructure and equipment.

• Conduct site surveys and project-related meetings.
• Develop detailed installation specifications and proposals.
• Select materials and perform material and labor cost analysis.
• Provide technical and field engineering support.
• Interact with customer technical representatives.
• Assure adherence to company and customer standards and practices.
• Participate in quality activities for project engineering work.
• Interface directly with customer engineers on project scope and content.
• Provide specific detail engineering information to customers.
• Assist in resolving technical issues.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the customer on projects.
• Act as a technical leader on assigned projects.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 3-5 years of project engineering experience in the telecommunications industry.
• Knowledge of telecommunications transport technologies and central office environments and standards.
• Ability to understand and work to strict customer standards.
• Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.
• Acute sensitivity to customer needs and overall customer service.
• Functional knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Access.
• Functional knowledge of basic computer aided design (CAD) drawing and editing software.
