Job DescriptionMercury Group Staffing isseeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join a team and lead the installation of telecommunications equipment in central office or customer premise locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical or electrical engineering, with a focus on telecommunications infrastructure and equipment.
- Conduct site surveys and project-related meetings.
- Develop detailed installation specifications and proposals.
- Select materials and perform material and labor cost analysis.
- Provide technical and field engineering support.
- Interact with customer technical representatives.
- Assure adherence to company and customer standards and practices.
- Participate in quality activities for project engineering work.
- Interface directly with customer engineers on project scope and content.
- Provide specific detail engineering information to customers.
- Assist in resolving technical issues.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the customer on projects.
- Act as a technical leader on assigned projects.
- BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 3-5 years of project engineering experience in the telecommunications industry.
- Knowledge of telecommunications transport technologies and central office environments and standards.
- Ability to understand and work to strict customer standards.
- Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.
- Acute sensitivity to customer needs and overall customer service.
- Functional knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Access.
- Functional knowledge of basic computer aided design (CAD) drawing and editing software.
- AC/DC power management
