Truck Driver Assistant Waste Management

Summary

Boston-based worker‑owned cooperative seeks a responsible Driver Assistant for its growing organic waste collection business. The ideal candidate has experience navigating, loading, and unloading heavy loads and prioritizes safety.

Typical schedule:

25 to 30 Hours, Monday through Friday, between 5:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Compensation: $20.00 per hour

• Helping load and unload 64‑gallon totes full of food waste onto the lift of a dump truck or box truck
• Adhere to the work schedule.
• Comply with all company policies and driving laws.
• Ability to perform a physically demanding job, including loading and unloading.
• Helping to wash 64 or 32‑gallon totes.
• Courteous interaction with our customers.
• Performing other miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned.

• Minimum 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Ability to use a routing app and GPS
• A valid driver’s license is preferred but not required.
• Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred but not required.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening

• This position requires extensive physical activity, including lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 100 pounds.
• The work environment involves exposure to physical risks, such as moving mechanical parts. It requires following basic safety precautions.
• The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, and vibration. The noise level is usually moderate.
