Compensation: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour, commensurate with experience
JOB OVERVIEWThe Carpenter/Welder is responsible for constructing and welding various set pieces and structures. This role involves interpreting blueprints, cutting and welding metal, and assembling set components. This position requires a skilled individual with extensive knowledge of carpentry, welding, and metalwork.
REQUIREMENTS- Construct and weld various set pieces and structures.
- Interpret blueprints, cut and weld metal, and assemble set components.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and to the required specifications.
- Collaborate with other team members to meet project deadlines and assist during load-ins and load-outs as needed.
- Adhere to all safety protocols to prevent accidents.
- Other duties as assigned
- Proficiency in welding techniques and metal fabrication.
- Proficiency in various carpentry techniques and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience with various welding equipment and safety gear.
- Experience with theatrical set construction and assembly.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs
- Must be willing to work with students and volunteers
- Reliable transportation and/or a valid driver’s license is preferred
- Ability to drive a 26’ box truck is preferred
