Compensation: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour, commensurate with experience

JOB OVERVIEW

The Carpenter/Welder is responsible for constructing and welding various set pieces and structures. This role involves interpreting blueprints, cutting and welding metal, and assembling set components. This position requires a skilled individual with extensive knowledge of carpentry, welding, and metalwork.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Construct and weld various set pieces and structures.
  • Interpret blueprints, cut and weld metal, and assemble set components.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and to the required specifications.
  • Collaborate with other team members to meet project deadlines and assist during load-ins and load-outs as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols to prevent accidents.
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proficiency in welding techniques and metal fabrication.
  • Proficiency in various carpentry techniques and tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Experience with various welding equipment and safety gear.
  • Experience with theatrical set construction and assembly.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Must be willing to work with students and volunteers
  • Reliable transportation and/or a valid driver’s license is preferred
  • Ability to drive a 26’ box truck is preferred
