Travel RN - Pediatrics

American Traveler is seeking a highly dependable RN for a Pediatrics night shift position in a small community hospital, requiring a MA RN license and strong peds experience.

Job Details

• Work in a small pediatric unit of a community hospital,

• Night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts,

• Patient ratio of 1:3, with a maximum of 3 beds,

• Must float to Med/Surg or Post-Partum as needed,

• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required,

• No on-call responsibilities,

• Meditech Expanse EMR is used and strongly preferred,

Job Requirements

• Active MA RN license required,

• Minimum 3 years of recent pediatric nursing experience required,

• BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA) certifications required,

• Skills checklists for Pediatrics and Med/Surg current within 1 year required,

• BSN preferred,

• Meditech Expanse experience strongly preferred,

• Adult Med/Surg experience preferred for floating,

• Must have own vehicle,

Additional Information

• Primary responsibility is caring for pediatric patients in a unit that supports rooming-in for parents,

• No second nurse scheduled; backup provided by Family Birthplace staff, respiratory, and IV therapists,

• Security badge with panic button is provided for immediate staff assistance,

• Orientation is 8 hours and is non-billable,

• Dependability is critical due to small unit size; call-outs are not permitted,

• Requested time off must be submitted up front; a maximum of 3 days off and 1 holiday will be approved,

• Local travelers residing within 50 miles will not be considered,

• First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded,
