Position: Operation Better Start - Clinical Manager

May require an occasional evening or weekend day.

Job Summary

The Clinical Manager serves as a vital link between clinical oversight and operational leadership, guiding a multidisciplinary team—including Registered Dietitians, Nurse Practitioners, a Social Worker, and clinical support staff—in delivering specialized pediatric, perinatal, and medical nutrition therapy services. This role directs the daily operations of Operation Better Start, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care for infants, children, adolescents, young adults, and women of childbearing age.

Job Requirements Experience
  • 5 years of RN clinical experience required.
  • Experience in pediatric/perinatal health is preferred.
Education
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Licensure & Certifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts required.
Skills & Abilities
  • Pediatric & Clinical Expertise:
    Strong understanding of pediatric growth, development, specialized care needs, and infection control principles.
  • Leadership & Professionalism:
    Demonstrates integrity, dependability, transparency, and a commitment to service excellence while serving as a positive role model.

    Collaboration:

    Communicates effectively with patients, families, staff, physicians, and leadership; skilled in coaching teams, resolving conflict, and representing the organization in the community.

    Familiar with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies (DCF, DPH, JC) and able to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Analytical & Organizational

    Skills:

    Strong critical-thinking abilities with the capacity to interpret clinical data, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Technical & Operational Proficiency:
    Experienced with Electronic Health Records, Microsoft Office, budgeting, resource allocation, and maintaining financial accountability.
  • Staff Development:
    Skilled in performance evaluations, onboarding, mentoring, and supporting ongoing professional growth.
Working Relationships
  • Title of position(s) supervised: OBS support staff, NPs, RDs, LiCSWs.
