Travel RN - Pediatrics

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatric RN for a small community hospital night shift position in Massachusetts, requiring 3 years of current pediatric experience and the ability to float to Med/Surg or Post-Partum as needed.

Job Details

• Work in a pediatric unit at a small community hospital with a maximum of 3 patients,

• Night shift position, working 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM,

• Patient ratio is 1:3 with no second nurse scheduled for the unit,

• Must float to Adult Med/Surg or Post-Partum as needed,

• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required,

• No on-call responsibilities,

• Support available from Family Birthplace staff, respiratory and IV therapists,

• Uses Meditech Expanse EMR, experience strongly preferred,

Job Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required,

• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required,

• Minimum of 3 years recent pediatric nursing experience required,

• Recent Adult Med/Surg experience preferred for floating,

• BSN preferred,

• Completion of Pediatric and Medical Surgical skills checklists within the last year required,

• Must provide work history and permanent address for consideration,

• Candidate must have their own vehicle,

Additional Information

• This is a very small unit and call-outs will close the unit and adversely affect patient care,

• Orientation consists of 8 non-billable hours,

• Parents are encouraged to room-in with their child and in-room games and a playroom are available for patients,

• Security badge with panic button provided for immediate assistance,

• Holiday coverage limited to one approved holiday; no more than 3 days of requested time off will be approved,

• Local travelers residing within 50 miles are not eligible for this position,

• Block scheduling will not be considered,
