R&D Engineer; Stent Technology

Location:

Westborough, MA

Seeking an experienced R&D Engineer to support front-end innovation and early-stage development of next-generation stent technologies within the cardiovascular medical device space. This role focuses on concept generation, feasibility validation, and advancing innovative ideas into the product development pipeline while working in a highly ambiguous, fast-paced environment.

• Medical device industry experience
• Direct experience in stent development, including nitinol materials and/or stent delivery systems
• Experience in front-end innovation, early-stage development, or concept feasibility work
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with marketing, engineering, and clinical stakeholders
• Experience working directly with physicians or customers to identify unmet clinical needs
• Demonstrated ability to independently execute development activities in unstructured environments
• Proven track record of advancing innovative concepts into tangible development outcomes

• Generate innovative stent concepts addressing unmet clinical and market needs
• Collaborate with marketing and physicians to translate user insights into technical solutions
• Develop early-stage prototypes and perform concept fabrication
• Conduct feasibility testing and early evaluations to validate technical viability and mitigate risk
• Integrate inputs from stent design, delivery systems, materials, and manufacturing technologies
• Author technical documentation supporting feasibility studies and development decisions
• Contribute to building and sustaining a pipeline of front-end innovation opportunities
