Ombudsman Program Supervisor

The Ombudsman Program Supervisor provides strategic leadership and oversight for the Berkshire County Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program. This role is responsible for implementing policies and procedures in alignment with the Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) in partnership with the Executive Office of Aging & Independence (AGE) and Elder Services of Berkshire County, Inc. (ESBCI). The Program Supervisor oversees daily operations to ensure program effectiveness and compliance, recruits, trains, and supervises volunteer Ombudsmen, and facilitates their ongoing development.

Additionally, the Program Supervisor engages in community outreach to raise awareness about long-term care issues and ensures timely reporting of all relevant concerns to AGE, in accordance with program standards.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human services or related field preferred.
  • Three years’ experience working with older adults or disabled persons in a community setting and working with volunteers.
  • Excellent people skills and collaborative approach; strong oral and written communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
  • Leadership ability; independent thinker; self-starter.
  • Ability to assess and judge situations of concern in an impartial manner.
  • Excellent clinical, social work, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams while maintaining professionalism at all times.
