Custodian

Job Overview

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule.
• Perform hazardous waste responsibilities, including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping, receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self.
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees.
• Repeat tasks as required.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
• Take direction and respond to supervision.
• Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, co‑workers, managers, and customers.
• Fill in during staff shortage.
• Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items.
• Use proper personal protective equipment.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand customer service and satisfaction.
• Understand reporting systems and environmental expectations.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements:

• Education:
  
  No specific requirement; 3–6 months training or experience preferred.
• Certificates & Licenses:
  May require a valid driver’s license, completed safety training, forklift certification.
• Bilingual a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
• Frequently required to sit, talk or listen.

Monday–Friday: 7:00 am–12:00 pm
$17.00 per hour
