Practice Manager Apprentice

Responsibilities- The Practice Manager Trainee will work with their supervisor and a mentor to lean the overall administrative and clinical functions necessary to support the day to day operations of assigned practice(s). This position is responsible for understanding all aspects of assigned area(s) including but not limited to financial performance, physician compensation inclusive of incentive pay, pay for performance, coding/compliance, and credentialing.
Participates in internal and external committees and is expected to manage physician relationships and issues collaboratively with physician leadership. He/she will be trained and oriented to the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of all practice site activity. During this apprenticeship, the trainee will learn about the budget process, fiscal and revenue and cycle management, patient satisfaction, provider productivity, EMR implementation and management, and quality performance.
In addition the Practice Manager Trainee will work with a supervisor in the recruitment, training, supervision, performance management, corrective action, and scheduling of staff. At the end of this program, the Practice Manager Trainee will be eligible to apply for a Practice Manager position within BHS. - Position Qualifications (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
- Experience:
- Supervisory experience or a demonstrated leadership role in a healthcare/physician practice setting is preferred but not required.
- Education and Training:
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Bachelor’s degree in Business or healthcare preferred. - License, Certification & Registration:
- None.
- Other Requirements:
- Knowledge of professional services/billing/coding.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of Windows-based and Microsoft Office environments and other applications.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation in order to commute to other practice sites.
- Professional in approach.
- Positive personality with leadership ability.
- Eager to learn in an array of settings and also through independent study.
