Information & Referral Worker

The Information & Referral Worker position is responsible for providing information and referrals to callers, potential consumers, family members, and consortium partners. The role assists in assessing needs, identifying and linking the most appropriate service and/or agency to respond to those needs.

• Bachelor's degree in human services or related field preferred, or a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of three years of experience working with older adults, individuals with disabilities, and/or telephone information and referral is required.
• Candidates who have demonstrated abilities in human services but do not meet these criteria may apply for a waiver.

• Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong assessment, communication, and counseling skills
• Commitment to working with older and disabled adults; strong sensitivity to aging and disability issues
• Ability to work successfully over the phone
• Crisis intervention/problem‑solving skills
• Familiarity with community resources
• Ability to work well with community agencies and individuals in a professional manner
• Leadership ability; independent thinker; self‑starter
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using databases

Part-time | Pay:
From $20.00 per hour | Expected hours: 20 per week
