Weekly Gross Pay - $3,150 - $3,250 (Includes Stipend of $1,554/week)
Job DescriptionThe Pathologists’ Assistant is responsible for the preparation, gross description, and dissection of surgical pathology specimens. This role also includes performing postmortem examinations under the medical direction of the pathologist(s), while supporting the hospital and laboratory missions, goals, and objectives.
Required Qualifications- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Pathology Assistant (required)
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Master’s Degree preferred
- (PA) ASCP certification required
- Equivalent certifications will NOT be accepted
- Strong independent judgment and initiative to schedule, organize, and plan work
- Accuracy in specimen collection and labeling
- Ability to adapt in emergency situations and work additional hours if required
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure for extended periods
- Knowledge of HIS, LIS, and relevant laboratory instrumentation
