Peri-Op Aide - NB

Responsibilities

• The Perioperative Aide is a member of the Operating Room staff who functions under the direct supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse and has knowledge of hospital ethics and policies as it pertains to their position. The perioperative aide provides an environmentally clean surgical area in accordance to the AORN (Association of Operating Room Nurses) standards and NARH Infection Control Standards as followed by the surgical OR staff.
• Assists in transportation and positioning of patients within the specific Operating Room guidelines.
• Compliance with safety and other regulations in the interest of patient care.
• Follows “Body Substance Isolation” policies at all times.
• Responsible for the storage and movement of supplies and equipment within the surgery department.

• Experience in patient transportation, housekeeping preferred
• High School graduate required, minimum of 1 year previous/current hospital, perioperative aide or attendant experience preferred
• Certified in Basic Life Support annually
• Works compatibly, productively and as a team.
