• Perform a wide variety of technical procedures, requiring independent judgment and ingenuity. Requires initiative to apply appropriate skills to facilitate a diagnosis. May be assigned independent responsibilities by Lead Technologist, Administrative Director, or Operations Manager.
• Provide proper care of the client following the departmental and hospital policies and procedures. May be responsible for assigned areas to assume responsibilities of supervision or instruction to department personnel as determined by Operations Manager or Lead Technologist.
• Practice infection control in compliance with departmental and hospital policies and regulatory standards. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Demonstrate proper operation of PACS, HIS and RIS computer systems and ability to operate and troubleshoot mammography equipment. Complete annual mandatory education including infection control and HIPAA. Maintain department competencies as required.

• Experience: 2 years as a diagnostic technologist preferred, 1 year as a mammography technologist preferred but will train candidates.
• Education and Training: Must have completed formal ACR-approved Radiologic Technology program for radiology and mammography preferred unless training.
• License, Certification & Registration:
  • MALIRM - Mass License in Radiography and Mammography (or working towards Mammography certification if training in this modality)
  • ARTRTR - Registered Technologist Radiography.
  • ARRTM – ARRT Mammography-Unless Training and working towards certification
  • CPR is required.
• Other Requirements: Must have excellent patient care skills. Must be current with all continuing education for both radiology and mammography if appropriate.
