Barrington Stage Company, an award-winning professional theatre company located in the heart of the Berkshires, is seeking two Spot Op/Electricians to join our team in Pittsfield, MA.

JOB OVERVIEW

Provides essential support during load-ins and strikes and serves as a follow-spot operator during performances. This is a foundational role focused on the physical execution of lighting designs.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Operate spotlights as assigned and perform show-run duties as directed by the Head Electrician or Stage Manager.
  • Maintain up-to-date paperwork for each production, including plot and show run sheets.
  • Assist in the hang, focus, and strike of lighting and projection equipment.
  • Complete pre-show checks and post-show shutdowns; assist in cleaning and maintaining fixtures and the lighting booth.
  • Aid in the construction of specialty items and the organization of the electrics shop.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Basic knowledge of theatrical lighting fixtures and safety procedures.
  • Previous experience operating follow-spots in a professional or educational setting.
  • Ability to follow complex cues and maintain concentration during performances.
  • Must be comfortable working with students and volunteers.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work comfortably at heights.
