Reporting to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Dean of Nursing, Health & Wellness is responsible for the leadership, planning, and administration of curricular programs and personnel activities within the Nursing, Health & Wellness Division.

These responsibilities include curriculum and master schedule development; budget development and management; program compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards; implementation of collective bargaining agreements; and other similar duties necessary to the functioning of the division.

The Nursing, Health & Wellness Division includes nine academic programs, Associate Degree in Nursing, Practical Nursing Certificate, Physical Therapy Assistant (A.S.), Respiratory Care (A.S.), Health Information Management Certificate, Medical Coding Certificate, Massage Therapy Certificate, Health Science (A.S.), and Fire Science (A.S.).We are seeking a creative, collaborative, and student-centered leader dedicated to student success and fostering high impact teaching and learning.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for working with and providing leadership to faculty and staff in the Nursing, Health & Wellness programs.

    Ensures the on-going quality of the programs and currency of the curriculum to meet regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with clinical facilities, advisory boards, and other Nursing, Health and Wellness programs within and outside of the state community college system.
  • Supervises the Program Administrator/Coordinators/Chairs in accordance with regulatory requirements.

    Collaborates with the faculty for the development, organization, and operation of the nursing, health and wellness programs to meet regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Works with the Academic Affairs Leadership Team to support the mission and vision of Academic Affairs.
  • Collaborates with faculty and the Student Affairs & Enrollment Management staff to assist in the process of selecting students for acceptance into the Nursing, Health, & Wellness programs.

    Provides oversight for the readmission of students consistent with programs' policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with the Academic Leadership Team to encourage and support an atmosphere of collegial learning focused on equitable student outcomes and inclusive relationships.
  • Provides administration, leadership, and supervision, to ensure the on-going quality of programs and curricular offerings through program reviews and assessment initiatives.
  • Works with facilities, IT, registration and off-campus site personnel to schedule and ensure currency, efficiency, and safety of instructional facilities on and off-campus, including traditional lecture spaces, laboratories, field placement locations, and technical facilities.
  • Participates in recruitment and hiring of faculty members and ensures appropriate orientation to their areas of responsibility.
  • Supervises and evaluates full-time faculty members, full- and part-time staff members, and adjunct faculty members.
  • Keeps abreast of significant events or changes in nursing, health and wellness education, methodologies, and techniques and maintains memberships in professional associations.
  • Adheres to the administrative guidelines and deadlines of collective bargaining agreements.
  • Collaborates with non-credit and workforce development at the College to develop and foster pathways from non-credit to credit-bearing curriculum in the division.
  • Performs other similar duties and responsibilities as necessitated or as requested by their supervisor.
Qualifications
  • A master's degree in nursing or a doctorate in nursing.
  • A current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license in good standing,
  • Five years full-time nursing experience, or its equivalent, within the last eight years, with at least three years' experience in nursing education.
  • The candidate will demonstrate an understanding of academic programming, accreditation, assessment, and curriculum development.
  • Knowledge of community college mission and commitment to serving a diverse student body is expected.
  • Previous experience as a nursing program department chair or administrator at a community college preferred.
