BARRINGTON STAGE COMPANY Barrington Stage Company, An Award-winning professional theatre company located in the heart of the Berkshires, is seeking an Audio Engineer for our Boyd-Quinson stage to join our team in Pittsfield, MA. The BQ Audio Engineer is responsible for the high-level mixing of large-cast musicals and supervising the Audio Technician (A2) within the venue. This is a performance-critical role requiring expertise in digital mixing consoles and live wireless microphone management.
Responsibilities- Program and operate digital mixing consoles for large-scale musical productions.
- Supervise the Audio Technician (A2) during technical rehearsals and show runs.
- Execute pre-show checks and post-show shutdown procedures for all venue audio and comms.
- Execute the sound design consistently as called by the Stage Manager.
- Assist in the physical installation of the seasonal sound plot, speaker arrays, and specialty items such as speaker stands and masking.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the FOH mixing area, audio booth, and shops.
- Other duties as Assigned By Production Management.
- Extensive experience mixing live sound for large-cast musicals with live bands.
- Advanced knowledge of digital consoles, Qlab, and Dante.
- Must be comfortable working with students and volunteers.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work comfortably at heights.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are preferred.
